Joshua Puckett

Biography

Joshua Puckett is currently the Interim Director of Parking and Transportation Services at East Carolina University. He has over 15 years of experience in higher education, and most recently has served six years in various positions in parking at ECU. During his time at ECU, Mr. Puckett has assisted with the planning, opening and operation of the university's first parking deck in 2019, and in 2021 assumed the role of project manager for the university’s new license plate recognition system. As project manager, Mr. Puckett successfully implemented LPR at ECU by supervising installation, operation, testing, training, and deployment across two campuses. Mr. Puckett successfully oversees the daily operation of the university’s parking and transportation system, which includes enforcement, maintenance, finance and budget, and special events planning.  Mr. Puckett has implemented a focus on communications with both the campus and community at large to ensure that day-to-day operations, as well as special events run smoothly and all community members are educated on parking and transportation issues.  Mr. Puckett has  continued to run the office successfully throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, while operating with significantly less staff and implementing LPR with updated customer service procedures.

Mr. Puckett is also involved in the parking community nationally through his participation in various parking conferences, meetings, and networking events with various other parking professionals. Mr. Puckett successfully completed his Certified Administrator of Public Parking (C.A.P.P.) certification  from the International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI).
